Metal Monagram
I’ve been keeping an eye out for big letters to adorn the walls at home. These colorful metal letters might be an option. There’s unfortunately only a few letters, but they have mine and the mister’s first initials. Hmm…it’s a maybe, especially since they can be painted.

Linzie Hunter
Oooh! Linzie Hunter got her printing advances for her new postcard book from Chronicle and gave the world a sneak peek. No surprise that it’s going to be AWESOME.

Linzie is one of those girls who know how to make lemonade from lemons. She creates gorgeous type treatments from spam emails, and they’re so hilarious! A couple of her prints are available on 20×200 (which is also great…letter-size art prints for $20. That’s what I’M talking about). Visit her website here.

My new favorite thing
So a couple weekends ago, I took my first letterpress class at Center for the Book. I had originally tried to get into Letterpress I, but I ended up taking a class that focused on tabletop platen presses. As I had anticipated, letterpress is my new favorite thing.
We learned to set type, arrange furniture, lock up the chase—all those time-consuming elements of print that are no longer needed with the advent of new printing technology. But it is oh so fun.
The instructor I had was really super. Her name is Susan Angebranndt, and she runs Green Chair Press.

MrsDukes, the font

It’s been a popular site blogged today (I first saw it on How About Orange). Create a font with your handwriting using fontifier. Previewing it is free, downloading is nine buckaroonies. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it, but, you know, it’s fun.
