Kitchen curtains

When we moved in, our kitchen had mini-blinds. It took me awhile to figure out what to do with the windows. (I mentioned them here last October.) Café curtains ended up being the best solution because they let in light while providing privacy. My mom makes window treatments professionally, and she was very sweet to sew them for us. (I don’t have the skills for that yet!)

Café Curtain

The counters are beige, which I’m not crazy about. Having off-white curtains make them more bearable. The cabinets are 60s knotty pine so I wanted fabric that felt retro. (Look familiar? They’re made from an Urban Outfitters’ bedspread).

Wait...it's an A/C unit!

Ta-da! Café curtains do double duty by looking cute and disguising the ugly A/C unit.

Fabric Fabric and More Fabric

I’m in need of some roman shades for the kitchen. The miniblinds just have to go. Lately, I’ve been scouting out fabric and came across a great selection at Contemporary Cloth. I definitely found some I like! The problem now is choosing which one to go with.

Many Mini Boxes

Love this cute storage idea from rnjetta. She covered several IKEA Fira chests with her favorite decorative papers.

Packin’ Up, Movin’ Out

We’re in the process of moving to a new apartment this weekend. It’s smaller, but it’s closer to everything. I’m most excited about being able to walk to farmer’s market and the neighborhood pub. Hooray!
