Whee! Renegade!
Guess where WE’RE going this afternoon? I’ve been looking forward to this for months.

Guess where WE’RE going this afternoon? I’ve been looking forward to this for months.

Yesterday marked the first day of Moustache May, a glorious celebration of upper lip facial hair. While not quite as exciting, I think, as Whiskerino, it is nonetheless amusing.
In honor of the occasion, I’ve decided to highlight moustache-related items this month. (No, I’m not tired of the hype yet.)
First up: ashleyg’s original illustration, Incognito.

This poor blog has been sadly neglected for several months now, and I think it’s time to start posting again. (It’s a strange feeling—the impulse to apologize to the internet.) Let’s just say, I’ve been a bit preoccupied with being married, homemaking, and learning my job (all of which I’m loving). My remedy for a sick blog has been decided. I’m going to participate in Thing-a-Day 2008. It’ll be a good motivator to start posting regularly and to get back in the habit of making things with my hands.See you in February then. Ta-ta!
I am determined to visit AIGA’s 50 Books/50 Covers exhibit next week. Chronicle Books is hosting it this year.

Yesterday I was able to attend the Bookbuilders West annual Crash Course. It’s pretty much a book production intensive course. Favorite speaker was definitely Leigh McLellan. In addition to being an amazing designer and compositor, she’s one of the instructors at Center for the Book. I seriously want to get my hands on some metal type.
