Eli, No!
I am absolutely in love with this children’s book that Katie Kirk made for her niece and nephew. Eli is such a bad doggy.

Oooh! Linzie Hunter got her printing advances for her new postcard book from Chronicle and gave the world a sneak peek. No surprise that it’s going to be AWESOME.

Linzie is one of those girls who know how to make lemonade from lemons. She creates gorgeous type treatments from spam emails, and they’re so hilarious! A couple of her prints are available on 20×200 (which is also great…letter-size art prints for $20. That’s what I’M talking about). Visit her website here.

So a couple weekends ago, I took my first letterpress class at Center for the Book. I had originally tried to get into Letterpress I, but I ended up taking a class that focused on tabletop platen presses. As I had anticipated, letterpress is my new favorite thing.
We learned to set type, arrange furniture, lock up the chase—all those time-consuming elements of print that are no longer needed with the advent of new printing technology. But it is oh so fun.
The instructor I had was really super. Her name is Susan Angebranndt, and she runs Green Chair Press.

I’m a huge form and function advocate. It’s not enough for something just to be pretty. It has to serve a purpose.
I love vintage valentines. Ggmossgirl has a nice flickr set with some real cuties.

I’ve been a fan of The Small Object (Sarah Neuburger) for about three years now, I guess. Her work has a great hand drawn quality (because it is…dur). One of her print series that I really love is the Thumb War Battles. They are so hilarious.
